Get to know Beau.

Most importantly, Beau is from here, and loves Sour Lake, Texas. He graduated from Hardin-Jefferson and was already active in our community long before the opportunity to step into the role of City Manager.

He is a career communicator with a passion for developing processes and procedures within organizations and teams. Simply put, that’s his priority.

In addition to City Manager, Beau is the current host of the International Code Council’s Pulse Podcast, where he has the unique opportunity to continually connect with a wide range of industry experts and promote ongoing innovation across communities and the built environment. Through both roles, he strives to support collaboration and continuous learning in growing municipalities just like Sour Lake.

Before stepping into the role of City Manager, Beau spent over a decade in entrepreneurial ventures that shaped his approach to communication, leadership, and problem-solving. He’s helped brands nationwide develop and manage PR strategies, he’s served in vocational ministry where he communicated with diverse audiences while recruiting and training leadership teams, and he’s invested in the real estate market by building spec homes and certifying efficiency standards across Southeast Texas.

In 2022, Beau began his career in local government by serving as the Deputy Building Official for the City of Beaumont. In that role, he focused on improving internal systems, external perceptions, and overall organizational culture. He collaborated regularly with media, city council, citizens, engineers, architects, code officials, developers, and builders, bridging communication across a wide range of stakeholders in the community. Beau hosted regular educational events that supported ongoing industry engagement, creating space for dialogue, growth, and practical application. The role of a Building Official has thoroughly equipped him to lead effectively, regulate technically, and protect our property owners for generations to come.

Beau’s background in local government, PR, construction, and ministry has given him a unique, well-rounded skill set that will serve Sour Lake well.

For fun, he has produced podcasts, contributed as a guest writer to various publications, published a children’s book, and he is currently working on several other projects in his free time. He has led as an elder within the local church, is currently an active board member in our local Little League, and has contributed to various other organizations that are investing in our local community.

Beau’s married to Brenna, a spectacularly brilliant professional, wife, and mother. Together, they have two boys, who push Beau further everyday into the greatest title on the planet; Dad.
