Below are the nine most frequently asked questions that your city manager gets. If we fail to get you the answer that you’re looking for here, please contact City Hall at (409) 287-3573.

What are your plans for:

Future Development?

Ultimately this isn’t my decision to make, however, I will ensure Sour Lake grows thoughtfully by enforcing standards that protect property owners and preserve the small-town charm that makes our community special.

Parks & Recreation?

I believe in investing in parks and public spaces so families can be proud of where they live. In Sour Lake, this is supported by an engaged parks committee that helps guide our decisions.

Streets & Traffic?

Street maintenance will stay a top priority as we develop a long-range plan to widen and improve key corridors, reducing future problems through thoughtful planning today.

Drainage?

We will continue regular drainage maintenance while ensuring new development does not worsen conditions, using strong permitting practices to guide responsible growth.

Water?

With our new treatment facility soon online, we will accelerate the replacement of aging distribution lines to keep Sour Lake’s water system reliable and high-quality.

Sewer?

We will maintain our sewer network proactively and plan carefully for future capacity, making this a central part of our long-term comprehensive plan.

Economic Development?

I believe that you strengthen economic growth by doing the small things well; keeping our community clean, inviting, and well-maintained so residents and businesses want to invest here.

Budgeting?

Sour Lake’s finances are strong, and we will only sharpen our planning and tighten general expenditures so we can direct capital funds with greater purpose and foresight.

Preserving History?

I hope to intentionally revive and celebrate Sour Lake’s unique story, from its historic springs to its Texaco legacy, ensuring our history remains a proud part of our future.
