Planning & Zoning Process

Required Meetings

Please follow these steps for all applications:

Step 1: Contact City Secretary

  • To schedule a time with the Planning Commission.

  • To view our meeting schedule, click HERE

  • The deadline to submit your application is 1 week before the meeting

  • Our City Secretary will let you know if your request has a fee associated with it

Step 2: Submit your application to City Secretary. There is no application that we give you. Your application should include the following:

  • Survey

  • Site Plan Detail Sheet

  • Drainage for the development (if applicable)

  • Written Proposal of Development

  • Payment of fee (if applicable)

Step 3: City Secretary Follow-Up

  • You will receive an email letting you know if we need any additional documents

  • If your application is perfect, we will still follow up and let you know that you are good to go

  • If you have not heard from us within 24 hours, please call our office and speak with the City Secretary

Step 4: Review Process for Approval / Denial

  • The City Manager will review your application

  • Based on current ordinance adoption, the City Manager will make a recommendation to the Planning & Zoning Commission

  • The Planning & Zoning Commission will make a formal recommendation to City Council

  • City Council will vote to approve or deny the application

* *One representative is required to attend all meetings to answer questions as needed

* * Additional applicants and/or any affiliated party is welcome to attend all meetings
